MPC saw risk of doing too little

The Bank of England’s monetary policy committee felt that the risk of doing too little to stimulate the economy was greater than the risk of doing too much, minutes of its May meeting show.

MPC members also decided that an additional stimulus now might allow it to raise interest rates more quickly in the future.
