Indonesian market beckons

Foreign investors have largely given Indonesia the cold shoulder over the past decade due to legal uncertainty, rampant corruption and unfriendly labour legislation.

The exception has been the banking sector. As the economy starts to turn a corner, bolstering lending and profits, foreign investors have been snapping up assets to gain access to south-east Asia’s largest consumer market.
