British Energy talks get serious

The idea of a new generation of nuclear reactors being built in the UK has become a real prospect this year, with the government giving it enthusiastic backing. British Energy is keen to turn this to its advantage.

The FTSE 100 company owns eight of the UK’s 10 functioning nuclear reactors and for almost a year it has been in talks with potential partners about building new ones.
