Switzerland’s price regulator has confirmed it contacted Roche this week after concerns the group might be abusing its position as the sole producer of Tamiflu.
Roche is considering its response and has 10 days to provide information on the ex-factory price for Tamiflu in Switzerland and neighbouring European markets. The regulator has asked Swiss pharmacies to detail their margins. “Both groups have 10 days. We will then study their response and decide whether to open a formal investigation,” said Rudolf Strahm, the Swiss price regulator.
