Ford sales stall as luxury loses its appeal

Ford’s luxury car division was supposed to have been fixed by Mark Fields.

But, 12 months ago, shortly after Mr Fields, head of the Premier Automotive Group and Ford of Europe, reported the luxury division’s first quarterly profit in years, he was buttonholed by chairman Bill Ford and recalled to Detroit to lead a much-needed repair job on the company’s US operations.
