HSBC fund of funds stays positive

Fund of funds managers have arguably had as bad a time as their stockpicking counterparts over the past 12 months. Market lows followed by the sharp rally at the beginning of the year made returns more disparate and careful fund selection more important.

Yet, for managers such as HSBC Global Asset Management’s Nicholas Pothier, the key to long-term returns is not getting carried away with the rest of the market.
