Lily Allen backs crackdown on file sharing

The fight that has broken out in the music industry over illegal file sharing intensified on Monday after the singer Lily Allen attacked a string of established bands, including Radiohead and Blur, for opposing the government’s plans to crack down on internet piracy and accused the artists of being out of touch with reality.

“I think music piracy is having a dangerous effect on British music, but some really rich and successful artists like Nick Mason from Pink Floyd and Ed O’Brien from Radiohead don’t seem to think so,” she wrote on her Myspace blog.
