Sales rise at Texas and AMD

Texas Instruments and Advanced Micro Devices, two leading US chipmakers, yesterday reported strong sales growth as the recovery in global chip markets continues at a rapid pace.

TI sales jumped 34 per cent to $2.94bn from a year ago on strong demand for its cell phone chips and also for its consumer electronics related chips and TV systems.
