In a hastily arranged board meeting on Thursday, French power group EDF decided against raising its stake in Constellation Energy Group as the US energy group scrambles to find emergency capital infusion.

EDF currently owns 9.51 per cent of Constellation and was mulling a move to bring its stake up to 20 per cent.
