Lib Dems settle taxation agenda

Income tax for those earning less than £100,000 ($145,000) should be slashed by £700 through soaking “big business and millionaires”, the Liberal Democrats proposed on Monday.

The proposal by Nick Clegg, party leader, marks the final stage of an overhaul of tax policy that will see the party campaign on redistributing £17bn to mainly low and middle-income families.
