COMPANIES Congressional Democrats are set to offer US car manufacturers a short term emergency loan to survive the next three months, in a move likely to win backing from the White House.
The prospective deal comes amid fears on Capitol Hill that the failure of one or more of the Detroit Three could deepen a US economic recession in which half a million people lost their jobs last month.
