Pension mediation service launched

A service to resolve disputes between pension fund trustees and employers over plans to cut hundreds of billions of pounds of deficits was launched yesterday.

The mediation service was announced by the National Association of Pension Funds and the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution as actuaries said proposals requiring most pension deficits to be eliminated within 10 years could increase employers' annual contributions by up to 90 per cent.
