Lawsuits target online music pirates

The global music industry on Tuesday launched its largest legal action against alleged online pirates with almost 1,000 lawsuits in 11 countries.

Leading music groups including Universal, Sony BMG, EMI and Warner have endorsed the drive to curb internet file-sharing, estimated to cost the industry $2.4bn (€1.8bn, £1.3bn) a year in lost sales.
