ABB quits Sudan over political risks

ABB, the Swiss power engineering group, said yesterday it had decided to suspend its business in Sudan mainly because of the political risks.

It said the Sudan divestment campaign, mounted by activists in the US to stop the conflict in Darfur, had been a lesser factor. Sudan was a small market, with revenues of less than $20m. Guy Dinmore, Washington
