Pre-nuptial deal ruling shakes up law

It is perhaps fitting that it took a dispute between a German heiress and a French investment banker to bring an eye-catching moment of clarity on Thursday to the chaos of English big money divorce cases.

Katrin Radmacher’s successful rearguard action against attempts by her ex-husband Nicolas Granatino to target her estimated £100m fortune has shaken up the rules on the pre-nuptial deals that had previously been largely rejected by the English courts.
