Recovery fears hit Asian export stocks

Sanyo shares lost more than a fifth of their value in Tokyo yesterday as Panasonic launched a tender offer for the company, despite the price having been public for nearly a year.

Traders suggested there might have been some expectations among retail investors that Panasonic could revise its bid upwards.
