Mike Slade, the London-based property developer and Helical Bar chief executive, finds it hard to contain his enthusiasm either for the sport of sailing or the commercial benefits of owning and chartering an instantly recognisable superyacht such as his 100ft ICAP Leopard.
“My gosh, what a business tool!” he says with boyish glee, recalling the numerous contacts he has made with clients and associates on a succession of yachts named Leopard that he has kept in the Solent on the south coast of the UK. “I find it enormously valuable.”
