COMPANIES Warren Buffett’s $4.7bn bid for Constellation Energy was dealt a blow on Monday as directors of the US energy group agreed to open talks with EDF of France on a rival $4.5bn offer for just half of its nuclear business.
If the talks with EDF are successful, the board could withdraw its recommendation of the rescue bid made by Mr Buffett’s MidAmerican Energy in September.
