Rachid Mohamed Rachid, Egypt’s trade and industry minister, said on Wednesday the time was ripe for Arab countries to accelerate economic integration as their companies outgrew domestic markets and global talks on trade liberalisation hit a brick wall.
Speaking to the Financial Times, Mr Rachid said Egypt would use a World Economic Forum conference in the resort of Sharm el Sheikh on Saturday to press the issue.
