Not being a great believer in following the flock, Sir Ray Tindle has underlined his belief in local newspapers by buying three more.

At a time when listed newspaper groups are reporting plummeting advertising revenues and less than a fortnight since Trinity Mirror announced the closure of seven regional titles, the purchase of three weeklies in Essex by Tindle Newspapers for an undisclosed sum certainly flies in the face of fashionable gloom.
