The rivalry between Embraer of Brazil and Canada’s Bombardier is becoming more intense as they compete for leadership of the world regional jet market and seek to establish a presence in new segments of the world aircraft market.
Bombardier pioneered the regional jet market in the early 1990s but has since been overtaken by Embraer. The Brazilian group has invested heavily in its new family of E170/190 jets expanding its reach to offer aircraft of up to 120 seats.
