Wolfowitz successor talks gain momentum

Robert Kimmitt, US deputy Treasury secretary and a possible candidate as the next World Bank president, on Saturday said it was “too early” to identify contenders for the post, but did not rule out his own availability.

Speaking in Potsdam, near Berlin, at the meeting of finance ministers from the G8 industrialised countries, Mr Kimmitt said he was “flattered” to have been named by the international media as a possible candidate to succeed World Bank president Paul Wolfowitz.
