Debenhams signs up Merrill and Citigroup

Debenhams has chosen Citigroup and Merrill Lynch as joint global co-ordinators for its flotation, which is tentatively scheduled for April and could value the UK department store group at about £3bn, including debt.

Morgan Stanley and CSFB will be bookrunners for the initial public offering - likely to be among the London Stock Exchange's largest this year.
