Turner confirmed as FSA chief

Adair Turner, one of the government’s favourite trouble-shooters, has been confirmed as the new chairman of the Financial Services Authority after weeks of speculation.

The former head of the CBI will replace Sir Callum McCarthy in September and will serve for a period of five years on a salary of £434,000 ($857,000) a year.
