Turkey nears new IMF agreement

Turkey is close to agreeing a new financing deal with the International Monetary Fund, ministers said on Thursday, but its structure, terms and the amount of funding it would involve had yet to be decided.

Business leaders have been calling for an IMF programme to ensure Turkey will be able to meet its external financing needs next year.
