To celebrate Mickey Mouse's 75th birthday last year, Walt Disney got various celebrities to decorate 75 statues of the rodent, which were then trotted around on an extended tour of the US. The march of the Mickeys ended this week at Sotheby's, where the six-foot-tall statues were auctioned off.

Buyers seemed less than excited, however, with the sale pulling in only $614,000 - barely half of what was expected, even with the proceeds going to various charities.
