Overview: Economy fears keep markets on edge

Uncertainty about the global economic outlook continued to keep financial markets on edge on Thursday as investors digested interest rate decisions in the UK and eurozone and oil maintained its gravity-defying performance.

Mark Cliffe, global head of financial markets research at ING, warned that the recent burst of optimism in the markets might yet prove premature.
