ICE’s Europe CDS house open ‘in weeks’

IntercontinentalExchange will launch a European clearing house for credit default swaps within weeks, the electronic exchange group said on Tuesday, building on the success of ICE Trust – its two-month-old North American CDS clearing operation.

The move is likely to strengthen the company’s headstart on rivals such as the CME Group and Eurex, which want to be involved in clearing trades in the $27,500bn CDS market.
