US President Barack Obama made his strongest pitch so far on Wednesday night to salvage his troubled health care reform plan, promising legislators that the burden would not fall on middle class taxpayers.
In a live televised press conference, Mr Obama also said he had pledged that health insurance reform would not add to the US budget deficit over the next decade. “And I mean it,” he said.
