Microsoft aims to soothe Yahoo fears

Microsoft moved to reassure Yahoo insiders on Friday about its plans for the internet group in the event of an eventual takeover.

In an e-mail to Microsoft employees intended to convey reassurances beyond the company, Kevin Johnson, head of Microsoft’s platform and services group, indicated that there would be no major job cuts if it succeeded in its unsolicited $28.66-per-share bid to gain control of Yahoo.
