Refinery strike talks break down

Industrial strife continued to afflict the engineering construction industry on Monday when talks to resolve a wildcat strike over jobs at Total’s Lindsey oil refinery in Lincolnshire broke down.

A fresh attempt to end the dispute will be made this morning when unions and employers meet again. The GMB union said it hoped officials from Acas, the conciliation service, would become involved.
