Growth in billionaires worldwide has outpaced the capacity of aircraft manufacturers to build wide-body jets.

A billionaire ordering a Boeing 787 today won’t get delivery of the “green”, or raw, aircraft until 2018 at the earliest. After an 18-month cabin fit-out, the palace-in-the-sky is unlikely to be ready before 2020.
