Fast track for Quilligan at bank

Anglo Irish Bank, one of Europe's best-performing banks, has appointed Declan Quilligan as head of UK operations, his second promotion in just eight months.

Mr Quilligan only took up his current position as head of Irish lending in February, after succeeding David Drumm who was promoted to chief executive.
