Malaysia’s leading mobile phone operator is set to raise $3.3bn in the country’s largest initial public offering and the biggest in south east Asia since the 1992 flotation in Singapore of Singapore Telecommunications.

Maxis, a spin-off from privately held Maxis Communications, offered 30 per cent of its shares at M$5 each, which values the whole company at $11.1bn.
