EU rules founder on poor trading data

The Investment Management Association, the UK fund management trade association, last week delivered a damning report on “best execution requirements” since they were introduced as part of Mifid, the Markets in Financial Instruments directive, over a year ago.

The report says trade reporting failings make it difficult to establish if best execution has taken place and that a consolidated stream of information needs to be introduced for all European equity markets.
