Mexico angry at US travel warning

The government of Vicente Fox, Mexico's president, criticised yesterday the "alarm signal" issued by the US State Department this week over the security of US travellers in northern Mexico.

It issued a communiqué saying it would "not accept either judgments or ratings from any foreign government over political actions taken to confront its own problems."
