Jewish school denies racism

A “top class” Jewish secondary school, which rejected a boy whose mother had converted to Judaism, argued in the Supreme Court on Tuesday that its decision was not breaching race discrimination laws.

The governing body of London-based JFS, formerly the Jews’ Free School, did not offer a place to the boy in 2007 on the grounds he was not Jewish according to the principles of Orthodox Judaism as stated by the Chief Rabbi.
