Why are multiplex cinemas always crammed with Hollywood remakes and sequels these days? The subject is one that is close to the heart of one professor at the Wharton school at the University of Pennsylvania.

Research by Eric Bradlow, co-director of the Wharton Interactive Media Initiative, shows that remakes are a safe bet in times of economic turmoil.
