Time Warner to cut jobs as ad income declines

Time Warner’s AOL internet division will slash up to 700 jobs, or 10 per cent of its workforce, as it moves to streamline its operations in anticipation of a bleak 2009 advertising market.

Online advertising, once seen as a safe haven amid other ravaged categories such as newspapers and local television advertising, is now suffering as the economic recession takes its toll on US marketers.
