CBI tells Tories to be 'helpful' to Brown

The Tories should respond to the financial crisis by being "helpful" to Gordon Brown, who has "come up trumps", the CBI employers' organisation, told the Financial Times yesterday.

Martin Broughton, CBI president, praised Mr Brown's "leadership" over the £37bn banks bail-out.
