DNA of terrorist suspects to be kept for life

Terrorist suspects who are released without charge could have their DNA records stored on a national police database for life, the government said on Wednesday.

Proposals announced by the Home Office could see the information on anyone arrested for terrorist offences, including those who are not charged or are acquitted, kept indefinitely on the national database.
