After a meeting with farmers disgruntled over the confiscation of their land in a small village near Beijing, the middleman who engineered the encounter anxiously asked if the journalists were satisfied with their interview.

Hustling like a carpet seller spreading his wares one-by-one in front of a customer, the guide pressed that if the farmers were not sufficiently newsworthy, he had many other conflicts on offer as stories.
