Sotheby’s accused of painting conflict

Lawyers acting for a technology multi-millionaire embroiled in a legal dispute with Sotheby’s have accused the auction house of failing to disclose an alleged conflict of interest in two paintings it sold last year.

The allegation, vigorously denied by Sotheby’s, has arisen in a protracted lawsuit involving it and Halsey Minor, the San Francisco-based founder of CNET, the technology news site.
