Burberry, the luxury goods group, continued its robust performance in the year to date, as it reported on Tuesday that constant-currency revenues rose 22 per cent in the three months to June, helped by continued good sales in the US.
On a like-for-like basis, retail sales increased 4.5 per cent at a time when many retailers are feeling the pinch from slowing economies, especially in the developed world. The British Retail Consortium said this week that year-on-year growth in total retail sales slowed from 4.6 per cent in May to 2.1 per cent in June.
