Washington co-ordinated a series of international pledges of flu vaccines on Thursday to strengthen prevention efforts against the H1N1 pandemic in the developing world.
President Barack Obama said the US would donate to the World Health Organisation 10 per cent of the vaccine supplies it had ordered so that these could be delivered to poorer countries. His gesture was mirrored by Australia, Brazil, France, Italy, New Zealand, Norway, Switzerland and the UK.
