Bombs stiffen resolve to see Iraq mission through to end

Britain's resolve to see its mission in Iraq through has strengthened following the terrorist bombings in London, in spite of calls from anti-war campaigners for the withdrawal of troops.

The attacks, rather than accelerating any pull-out from Iraq, can be expected to have the opposite effect, say senior Whitehall officials and diplomats. The government believes that those calling for an immediate withdrawal have misjudged the mood of the public.
