Good week or bad? Mixed messages add to uncertainty

How long ago it all seems. Two years ago this week, the European Central Bank’s move to inject liquidity into the credit markets marked the first official response to what was tentatively being called a liquidity crunch.

Then, stocks around the world plunged as investors worried that the action meant the ECB, and the other central banks that followed its lead, knew something they didn’t.
