Iran divide deepens after arrests

Iranian authorities on Monday arrested about a dozen reformists, including senior aides to opposition leaders, in a fresh crackdown following mass protests in Tehran and elsewhere at the weekend.

At least three allies of Mir-Hossein Moussavi, the opposition leader, who claimed victory in Iran’s disputed presidential election in June, and two aides to Mohammad Khatami, the former president, have been detained.
