Union Fenosa defends its position

The biggest companies will not necessarily dominate a unified European energy market, the chairman of Union Fenosa, the Spanish electricity company, said in defending the company’s record and growth prospects.

Union Fenosa, which is 45 per cent owned by ACS, the Spanish construction company, has been a subject of persistent bid speculation in recent months.
