UK court criticises transatlantic legal deal

A landmark transatlantic legal deal that allowed three British executives to plead guilty to price-fixing in the US but serve their jail time at home has been criticised by senior English judges.

The Court of Appeal said it had “considerable misgivings” as it cut the prison terms of the three oil equipment cartel members to match exactly sentences they had provisionally agreed with US prosecutors.
